If you are committed to making personal changes for greater life satisfaction, then you are ready to seek therapy. Many people believe that they need to be suffering from “mental illness” or serious “psychological problems” in order for therapy to be appropriate. This is not the case, anyone can benefit from therapy.
If you decide to schedule an appointment after your consultation, you will receive a login for your client portal page. There you will sign all documents and intake forms. On our first session, we will go over some of this and make a plan together on what our sessions will look like (that including going over your presenting problem + goals). Following sessions will simply look like us chatting and working together to heal your concerns.
This consultation is a good time to discuss any issues that you are currently looking to work on. This is also a good opportunity for you to ask any additional questions that you may have about Wholly Healing Therapy LLC. At the end of the consultation, you and I will decide what the next step will be with regards to therapy or life coaching. If your needs are outside my scope of work I will give you referrals for other services.
There is no specific time frame when working on personal development and growth. Depending on the type of changes that you are looking to make and the variety of issues that you are attempting to work on, it can last from a few sessions to much longer. However, I approach treatment planning/goal setting with a solution-focused mindset so you can start healing as soon as possible.
In our first session we set goals together. We will re-evaluate these goals 2-4 times a year. Since it is hard to put a value on your progress, we use these goals to guide your progress, where we have come and where we still need to go. Truthfully, my goal is to put myself out of a job because you are achieving your goals.
There are endless benefits to engaging in therapy or life coaching. Some of these include: gaining a better understanding of oneself, figuring out life goals and prospects, improving personal relationships, developing coping skills, enhancing problem-solving abilities, making positive changes to problem behaviors, and boosting self-esteem. The benefit that you can obtain will ultimately depend on how committed you are to the process.
Unfortunately at this WHT does not accept insurance, however, check with your insurance provider on out-of-network costs and I could provide you with a superbill for possible reimbursements.
I am dedicated to serving my community and providing mental health services to all. I don't want finances being the reason someone cannot access care. That's why I offer sliding scale options. If this is something you need, please contact me today.
Once a week sessions are the standard for individual and couples counseling or life coaching, though clients are welcome to seek more frequent sessions or bi-weekly sessions if that is what your schedule/finances allows.
I am not a psychiatrist and therefore do not prescribe medication. However, I understand that in some cases medication can be valuable in combination with psychotherapy. If I find this to be true for you, I will connect you with resources to find a psychiatrist.
This one is totally up to you. It depends on the goals you are looking to accomplish by seeking help from a professional. Life coaching is more focused on the present and future and doesn't dive too deep into the past. While psychotherapy will do a deep dive into the past to heal your present. Either can be beneficial.
